SPEECH THERAPY
Speech therapy is a specialize treatment that helps individuals improve communication, speech, language, and swallowing abilities, tailored for both children and adults.
Speech therapy, provided by a speech-language pathologist (SLPs) addresses a wide range of communication and swallowing challenges. For children, therapy often focuses on language development, articulation, stuttering, and social communication skills, including support for children on the autism spectrum.
For adults, therapy may target speech and swallowing difficulties caused by stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson's disease, or other neurological conditions.
Therapists use evidence base techniques to improve speech clarity, language comprehension, verbal expression, reading, writing, and cognitive communication skills. They may also provide swallowing evaluations and recommend strategies for safe eating and drinking.
Speech Therapy Types
