In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) is a Medi-Cal-funded program in California that provides in-home care to eligible aged, blind, or disabled individuals so they can remain safely in their own homes instead of moving to out-of-home care such as nursing homes or assisted living. IHSS is designed to replace or supplement out-of-home care by paying for personal and domestic assistance, paramedical tasks, and protective supervision.
